Sherwin Williams Color of the Month: Blue Sky

Sherwin Williams chose April’s color of the month named Blue Sky. It’s a fresh, almost minty, blue that works really well with cool tones. We think this paint looks especially good in a kitchen or bathroom to bring a calm, beachy feel to a space. It definitely has the brightening effect that we like to see this time of year because it’s fun yet soothing at the same time! We first paired it with some other Sherwin Williams shades that we think compliment it really well.

Complimenting Shades

Blue Sky | Elation | Nugget | Endless Sea | Celestial

Adding in other shades of blue can make it look really cohesive. But bringing in deeper shades in the same color scheme as well as a bright, mustard yellow create a stunning (and necessary) contrast that works really well.

Blue Sky in the Kitchen

1. Flush Mount | 2. Faucet | 3. Counters | 4. Bar Stool | 5. Blue Sky Paint | 6. Knob | 7. Pull

We love this color in the kitchen! So we imagined painting the cabinets in Blue Sky and adding a beautiful cool-toned Caesar Stone for the counters. We went with brushed nickel hardware and lighting to coordinate as well. We love that flush mount because all the glass lines kind of reminds us of wood in a weird way, to keep the modern beachy theme going. And of course the bar stool has the same feeling- painted white with sleek lines and a light wooden foot base at the bottom that gives it the natural aspect.
