Oscars Looks with Coordinating Furniture

We came up with this idea two weeks ago after The Grammys and received so much positive feedback that when The Oscars rolled around again, we knew we wanted to do it again. In case you missed it last time, you can click the link here to read it. The concept of this is to find some of the best dressed attendees and find furniture that coordinates well with that look. It’s a really fun way to look at fashion differently and understand the connection it has to interior design.

Lady Gaga

1. Candle Holders | 2. Embroidered Leather Sofa

We know we showed Gaga’s look from the Grammys, but she really has been the main focus during both major events from her role in A Star is Born. The arched candle holders exemplify the unique shape of Gaga’s dress with the narrow top, bulbous center from the extended hips, and fluidity at the bottom of the mermaid shape. We found more inspiration in the sofa, though her dress is not embroidered, the shape is very much in tune with the cut of her dress.

Emma Stone

1. Pendant Lights | 2. Thad Hayes Lounge Chair

Emma Stone looked absolutely regal in this Louis Vuitton dress at the Oscars this year. But the best angle has to be from the back where you can really see the effects of the high shoulders and open back. (Seriously, click here to more see it.) Though a lot of people online said it looked like a waffle cone… we took some major inspiration from the diamond shapes and lovely shades of bronze and copper to find coordinating furniture. The pendant lights are almost a dissected version of the dress in terms of materials, and we see it again in the chair with the layers of leather and then bronze legs.

Lupita Nyong’o

1. Goat Hair Chair | 2. Glass Feather Chandelier

Lupita stuns us again and again every year at the Oscars. We love this fluffy, airy look- so many furniture options to go with it. Inspired by the textures, mood, and color contrast in her look, we found some truly unique furniture and lighting. We found one of the most unique looking chairs with an abstract stainless steel base. The chandelier, on the other hand, is a perfectly trying to exude the same energy from her feathery dress.

Emily Ratajkowski

1. Ivory Silk Hanging Lamp | 2. Mediterranean Sideboard

Emily is another model/actress who never fails to impress everyone on the red carpet. The lace bodice with an asymmetrical flair gives it a nice balance of vintage and modern. Instead of something as grandmother-y as a doily, we found this bohemian cabinet that has a similar design to that of the lace on her dress. Inspired by the fit and flare cut of the dress, we found a pendant/chandelier that has an extremely similar shape, along with being in the right color family.
