How to: Upgrade Your Powder Room

This new year is all about upgrading! Your powder room is a great start to updating a few key pieces because it’s typically a smaller space yet it will make a real noticeable difference. Whether you just need some drapes or all new fixtures or completely digging up that 80’s tile that’s still there, we have some great tips and options on how to get that new look your home really needs. We’ve had a few clients this year that needed a bathroom face lift. Some had really outdated wallpaper and some required completely breaking down some of the interior walls to make better use of the space. But we always made it work and we’re using some of that style as inspiration for options for you to consider!

Before (Stratford Hill Country):

This home required a lot of architectural adjustments… Because of that, when you see the after photos you’ll barely recognize the space. For someone doing a DIY home update this post will be really useful for you, even if you’re starting with a bathroom like this. Meaning, you’ll still have that slightly awkward L-shaped counter/sink but at least you’ll have some stunning fixtures!

After (Stratford Hill Country):

I think these photos speak for themselves… The first thing we did was remove those glass blocks from the tub area. Now the bath still sits as the focal point but for much better reasons. The tile patterns we chose flow nicely together and create the most serene bathroom for taking a bath, getting ready to go out, or even just taking some mirror pics.

Before (Lost Creek Condo):

This master bathroom needed quite a transformation as well. We knew we wanted to break down the harsh wall that divided the shower and tub in order to create a more united space. And of course, that wallpaper had to go.

After (Lost Creek Condo):

If we can pat ourselves on the back- we really love everything about this new bathroom! From the gold fixtures and hardware to that standing tub to that back tile wall. It evolved into a luxurious space that was able to feel modern & classic while also being super feminine. A winning combination if you ask me!

Now that you’ve seen what we’ve done with our client’s bathrooms, let’s get into what we can do for your powder room, also known as “the 1/2 bath.”
